Edvard Munch at Hotel Continental

One of Norway's largest private Munch collections hangs in BAR BOMAN at Hotel Continental. By chance, the second generation owner of the hotel, Arne Boman Hansen, came across 12 prints from an art dealer in Oslo in 1932.

Since Boman Hansen offered to buy them all, he got a good price. For NOK 5,500, he became the owner of the twelve graphic works, which today form an important pillar of Hotel Continental's commitment to art and culture. Edvard Munch lived from 1863 to 1944, and was a highly acclaimed painter and graphic artist both in Norway and internationally. He was one of the pioneers of expressionism.
