The story of Continental Event

Hotel Continental opened in 1900 with 30 hotel rooms and Theatercaféen on the first and second floors. In 1909, Caroline and Christian Boman Hansen took over the running of the hotel and café, and since then the hotel and Theatercaféen have been owned by the family.

The start of what is now Continental Event was in 1932, when the hotel was expanded with a new building with 76 new hotel rooms (all with private bathrooms), the lobby bar Dagligstuen (which is now called BAR BOMAN) and a function room. In 1960, the third generation owner, Ellen Brochmann, rebuilt and modernized the hotel with a new eight-storey building with 88 new hotel rooms, two restaurants and a function room for 300 guests (Teatersalen).

Continental Event has undergone several major renovations over the years, but the largest and most extensive was carried out by the fourth generation owner, Elisabeth C. Brochmann. Brochmann, in 2011 and 2014. The 12 meeting and event rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are now an exclusive event space in a classic modern style with a unique art collection, high standards and stunning chandeliers.
